UI/UX Engineer
Role and Responsibilities:
This position allows you to channel your creative juices to propose and define a progressive user interface for a cloud-based data analytics platform being built using hybrid analytic tools, cloud-native services, and the latest, most relevant and robust open-source tools. We operate with agile principles, which means more autonomy to work in self-organized teams.
Design compelling user experiences
· Apply information architecture, user interaction, content delivery, visual design, and accessibility principles for transactional systems, reporting/visual dashboards, and public-facing websites
· Apply user research analysis to design optimal user journeys
· Develop approaches to demonstrate the effectiveness of usability
· Develop wireframes/mock-ups to visually communicate solutions
Deliver on new and existing projects
· Work with self-organized teams to implement designs in new and existing projects using agile and iterative techniques
· Act as an individual contributor to implement ideas
· Use a variety of methods, technologies, and tools for development, testing, and quality assurance of products
· Find creative solutions to obstacles identified during development
· Produce related documentation and deliverables.
Build capacity for the organization
· Facilitate, participate and contribute to communities of practice
· Champion responsive, mobile, and complex web interfaces for transactional, analytics, and digital communication websites
· Develop methods, tools, and techniques to deliver solutions using a variety of technologies
Support growth initiatives
· Create demos and solutions for new customers
· 2-6 years of experience in delivering IT solutions
· 2+ years of experience in designing transaction systems, reporting solutions, or digital websites
· Demonstrated experience working on accessibility, section 508, and responsive design
· Experience with HTML5/CSS, AngularJS, Bootstrap, SASS, LESS, and Adobe Creative Suite
· Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
· Master’s degree in fine arts, computer science, or related field
· Demonstrated commitment for on-going professional development in the UX/UI field
